Privacy Policy

How we handle the information you share with us, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

Who we are

Carthagene is the olive oil brand of Rajhi & Ferjani, an organic, Ecocert-certified family estate and mill based in Nabeul, Tunisia. When this policy says "we", "us" or "our", it means Rajhi & Ferjani.

We are responsible for the personal information described here. You can reach us at export.dep@rajhiferjani.com, or on +216 23 116 666 or +216 93 909 983.

What this policy covers

This policy applies to this website and to the enquiries you send us through it. It explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, who else can see it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.

It does not cover other companies' websites that we may link to. If you follow a link away from this site, that company's own privacy policy applies.

Information we collect

We only collect personal information that you choose to give us. There are no accounts to create on this site, and we do not ask for or handle payment details anywhere on it.

When you submit the contact form, we receive the details you filled in:

  • your first name
  • your email address
  • your phone number, if you give one
  • your profession and company, if you give them
  • the message you write
  • whether you ticked the box agreeing to receive marketing emails

Technical information

Like any website, ours is served by a hosting provider that keeps short-lived server logs, typically the IP address the request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. These logs exist to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to build a profile of you.

We do not run analytics, advertising or session-recording tools on this site, and we do not embed third-party trackers. The fonts and images the pages use are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not tell anyone else that you visited.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies. It stores nothing in your browser's local or session storage, and there is no advertising, analytics or profiling cookie to consent to or refuse, which is why you are not asked to dismiss a cookie banner here.

If we ever add something that does require cookies, we will ask for your consent before it runs and update this policy first.

Why we use your information, and on what basis

We use what you send us for a small number of clearly defined purposes:

  • To answer your enquiry and, where relevant, prepare a quotation or a commercial proposal, because you asked us to, and because we have a legitimate interest in responding to people who contact our business.
  • To carry on a commercial relationship with you or the company you represent, including order and delivery follow-up, because it is necessary for the contract between us.
  • To send you marketing emails about our products, but only if you ticked the box asking for them. You can withdraw that consent at any time.
  • To meet our legal, accounting and export-documentation obligations.

How your information is protected

The site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into the contact form is encrypted in transit between your browser and our server. It cannot be read by someone watching the network in between.

Once we receive it, access is limited to the people at Rajhi & Ferjani who need it to answer you, principally our export team. We do not publish enquiries, and we do not put them anywhere publicly reachable.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. Please do not send us passwords, bank or card details, or identity-document numbers through the contact form; we never ask for them, and we have no reason to hold them.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back to us, normally up to three years from our last contact with you.

Where a commercial relationship follows, we keep the records that accounting, tax and export rules require us to keep, for as long as those rules require.

If you asked for marketing emails, we keep your address until you unsubscribe. Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link.

Who else sees it

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

A small number of service providers process it on our behalf and on our instructions: our website host, and Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), which delivers the contact form to our inbox and handles our mailing list. They may only use your information to provide that service to us.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.

International transfers

We are based in Tunisia and we export to Europe, Africa, North America, Asia and the Middle East, so your information may be handled in a country other than your own, including by the service providers above.

Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area, we do so on the basis of an appropriate safeguard recognised under the GDPR, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have some or all of the following rights over the information we hold about you:

  • to ask what we hold and get a copy of it
  • to have inaccurate information corrected
  • to have information deleted where we no longer need it
  • to object to, or ask us to restrict, a particular use
  • to receive the information you gave us in a portable format
  • to withdraw your consent to marketing emails at any time, without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it

How to exercise them

Write to us at export.dep@rajhiferjani.com and tell us what you would like us to do. We will respond within one month. There is no charge for a reasonable request.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom and you believe we have handled your information badly, you may complain to your national data protection authority. We would rather you told us first, so that we can put it right.

Children

This is a business-to-business website. It is not aimed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed; this version is dated 10 September 2026.

If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will contact the people concerned rather than rely on this page alone.
